Pratheesh Karappadam is one such writer who has won the affection of readers through his notable works in Manicheppu. This issue introduces his deep connection with words, his literary journey, and his creative contributions.
Karappadam in Kizhakkenchery Panchayat of Palakkad district is the hometown of writer Pratheesh Karappadam. His student days at Mambad C.A.U.P. School marked the beginning of his love for words and reading. During his school years, he was known as one of the students who brought the largest number of storybooks to class. He also found great joy in narrating stories to his classmates.
Myths and magical tales from wondrous worlds enriched his imagination from an early age. This close bond with reading eventually became the path that led him to writing.
The curious writings of his childhood gradually developed into more mature creative aspirations during his undergraduate years. One of the notable milestones in his literary journey was writing and staging a play during his college days and receiving recognition for it.

His stories and other writings have been published in magazines such as Manicheppu and Hasyakairali. Pratheesh humbly describes himself as still a beginner in the world of writing. He believes that the love and encouragement he receives from readers and friends are far more valuable than major awards. In particular, the encouragement he receives from the teachers at Moolankode A.U.P. School, where his children study, gives him tremendous confidence.
On one occasion, he was invited by the school for a felicitation. However, believing that he should accept such honours only after achieving greater accomplishments, he humbly declined the invitation.
Pratheesh is someone who has explored various fields in life. He has worked in a finance company, as a field executive in an advertising company, and later as an accountant in the hotel industry. Despite the demands of his professional life, he makes a conscious effort to continue pursuing his writing.

Along with writing, video editing, videography, and photography are among his favourite creative pursuits. His son Adam and daughter Aadhini are his close companions in these creative activities. Growing lotuses is another one of his favourite hobbies.
The support of his wife, Shilpa, and their children, Adam and Aadhini, gives strength to Pratheesh’s literary journey. His greatest aspiration is to share with readers the small and big experiences that life presents, transforming them into stories and reflections.
With his love for words and his keen ability to observe life closely, Pratheesh looks forward to continuing this journey and creating even better works in the years ahead.
